My name is Nate Horner, and I am one of the assistant principals. This is my 5th year as an administrator at St. Vincent de Paul and my 14th year in education. Prior to administration, I taught English/Language Arts 7-12 for 9 years in both public and private schools in central Nebraska and in the Omaha Metro Area. I hold a Certificate of Audio and Recording Technology from NECC (2009), a Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts 7-12 from UNK (2013), a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction K-12 with a minor endorsement in Behavioral Management from Peru State (2018), and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration K-8 with an endorsement in Catholic Leadership from Creighton University (2021).
In my position as assistant principal, I assist Dr. Marchese and Mrs. Warneke in carrying out a wide array of shared administrative tasks and duties. Specific to my position, I oversee all special education and extended learning services for students who receive special services through our in-house Extended Learning Center (ELC) and/or through the public school system of their residence. I am also in charge of the fall student fundraiser, high school recruiting visits, school pictures via Scholastic Photography, and standardized testing and data collection.
