Hola! I am Ms. Zurita and I am so excited to the new Spanish teacher this year at Saint Vincent de Paul. I earned a BA on K-12 English Pedagogy from the University of Tarapaca in Chile. I came to the United States to study a MA in TESOL/Spanish (Teaching of English/ Spanish to Speakers of Other Languages) in the University of Northern Iowa. I have taught for over 24 years, from which 6 years have been in Catholic Schools.
Class Info
I will be teaching introductory Spanish to grades 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Our classes will continue to focus on the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. We will learn everyday vocabulary, practice it in simple conversations, and explore the rich tradition of the Spanish Speaking countries, including the ways faith and culture are expressed in different communities. Thank you for entrusting your child to our care. I look forward to a fun and meaningful year of learning Spanish.
