Background
Welcome to the sixth grade! I am very excited to begin my 6th year at St. Vincent de Paul. Prior to coming to SVdP, I taught 16 years with Omaha Public Schools. I taught 6 years in a seventh grade Language Arts and Reading classroom and 10 years as an Elementary Media Specialist. I earned my Bachelor's in English with a Secondary Education edorsement from Creighton University and a Master's in Reading from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Class Info
This year in Literature, students will explore story elements, short stories, the realistic fiction genre, the historical fiction genre, poetry, figurative language, and the fantasy genre. In English, students will write informal and formal essays for a variety of purposes such as informing, persuading, entertaining, and narrating. Mrs. Hazard is the teacher associate who will be working with 6th grade students and teachers.
