Ms. Kolberg - Room 72
Welcome to Science for 7th & 8th Graders!
I am excited to begin my thirteenth year of teaching at St. Vincent de Paul. I majored in Biology and Secondary Education. I have my Masters in Technology from Lesley University. I previously have taught seventh and eighth graders at St. Pius/St. Leo School and Holy Ghost School. I enjoy science, playing sports, woodworking and reading.
Eighth graders focus on physical science. We will start out the year with the study of waves - both sound and light. Chemistry is next, focusing on basic atomic structure and chemical bonding. A unit on force and motion will finish the year. Our final activity is a rocket lab where students build, launch and record information about their flights. For fun I have included a few sites that involve thinking games. They are fun to try any time of the year! Click here for these. Good luck!
