Mrs. Michelle Sullivan - Room 83

Background
Hello! My name is Michelle Sullivan, and I am the 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher. This is my 3rd year at SVdP and my 31st year of teaching. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Elementary Education. I also hold a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction K-12 from Peru State College.

Class Info
The 8th graders study American History. The students will engage in learning starting with the earliest Americans and making our way through important historical events including The American Revolution, World War I, The Jazz Age, The Depression and New Deal, The Civil Rights Era, and many more. There will be a variety of individual and group projects throughout the year as well. 

The 7th graders study World Geography. The students will learn about the Themes of Geography, The Human World, Government and Citizenship, and focus specifically on many countries of the world. The 7th graders will be involved in individual and small group projects throughout the year as well.    

Student resources for Social Studies can be found on the textbook webistes as well as Google Classroom. Students grades can be viewed in PowerSchool.  Mrs. Debra Acker is the teacher associate who will be working with the 8th grade students and teachers.
